Rógvi Jacobsen [ ɹɛgvɪ ] (born March 5, 1979 in Klaksvík ) is a former Faroese football player . With ten goals he is also the record scorer of the Faroese national team .

Career

Club career

Jacobsen began his career at KÍ Klaksvík , for which he was first used in 1995 in the third team. On the first day of the third division he was substituted on in the game against ÍF Fuglafjørður II in the 60th minute when the score was 0: 3 for Terji Poulsen , the game was lost with 1: 3. The following year he was used for the first team in the group matches of the Cup , he made his debut in the away game against HB Tórshavn when he came on in the 89th minute for Sámal Eyðfinn Akursmørk . At the end of the year he was loaned to Sønderjysk Elitesport , which played in the Danish Superliga . He made his debut on matchday 12 in the away game against Viborg FF , when he came on for Henrik Hansen in the 87th minute . The game ended 1-1. After playing five games, he returned to KR Reykjavík in 2006. Jacobsen was signed by HB Tórshavn within the season. In the first year he was again Faroese champion. Jákup á Borg was also part of the team at the time. The following year he was with HB in the cup final, which was lost 3: 4 to EB / Streymur . Jacobsen scored the 2-4 goal here. In 2008 Jacobsen moved abroad again and played for IL Hødd in the second-rate Adeccoligaen . There he signed a two-year contract, with offers from Italy, England, the Netherlands and Belgium. National team career

Jacobsen played 53 games for the Faroe Islands . He made his debut together with Fróði Benjaminsen on August 18, 1999 in the friendly against Iceland , which was lost 0-1 in Tórshavn . Jacobsen came on as a substitute for Julian S. Johnsson in the 79th minute . He scored his first goal on February 10, 2002 in a friendly against Poland , which was lost 2-1 in Limassol . In qualifying for the European Championship in 2008 , he scored all four Faroese goals. On June 2, 2007, he scored the 1: 2 against the reigning world champions Italy and on November 21, 2007, the 1: 3 in the second leg against the same opponent.
