Av Fløtum played for HB Tórshavn as a child . He made his senior debut on March 31, 1996 against arch rivals KÍ Klaksvík in the Faroese Cup when he came on for Ingi Rasmussen in the 72nd minute , the game was lost 3-1. In the Cup, he also scored his first competitive goal in the group stage in the 8-0 win against SÍ Sumba , he scored the 5-0. In the league he ran first for the third and second team, his debut in the first division he made on matchday three in the 1: 2 home defeat against VB Vágur . He played from the start and was substituted on for Bogi Midjord in the 78th minute . He scored his first league goal in the second division on matchday ten for the second team in a 6-0 win against B68 Toftir II , he scored 5-0. Also in his second season he played alternately for the first and second team. In the first division he scored his first two goals on matchday 13 in a 9-0 away win against B71 Sandur with the goals for 2-0 and 6-0.

The dangerous left-footer contributed significantly to the HB championship titles in the following years. In 1998 the double was achieved with the 2-0 cup win against KÍ Klaksvík , this year he played with Jan Dam , Hans Fróði Hansen , Jóhannis Joensen , Allan Mørkøre and Jens Erik Rasmussen, among others . In 2002 he was the top scorer in the Faroe Islands with 18 goals and was also voted “Player of the Year”. In this and the following year he won the championship together with Uni Arge , Jan Dam, Jón Rói Jacobsen , Rógvi Jacobsen and Jóhannis Joensen, among others . In the 163 games for HB in the league and the cup until 2003, he scored a total of 84 goals (2004 position 5 in HB's all-time goalscorer list). In 2003 he lost with HB in the Atlantic Cup against KR Reykjavík with 0-2.

After his success in the Faroe Islands, he moved to the Danish second division club Fremad Amager in February 2004 . He made his debut on March 21, 2004 against Brønshøj BK and quickly became a regular at Amager. At that time he played in a team with fellow countrymen Hjalgrím Elttør and Jann Ingi Petersen . At the beginning of the 2006/07 season he was often injured and could only play one game in the first team for his club. In the B team he managed four goals in two games in the 2006 Copenhagen series. In the second part of the season he took part in 13 out of 15 possible games, but could no longer help with his compatriots Todi Jónsson and Jónas Þór Næs to save Amager from relegation to the third division.

Since his partner was finishing her training at the same time, he decided to return to the Faroe Islands in the summer of 2007, where he has been playing for HB again since then. In 2009 and 2010 he was again Faroese champion with Fróði Benjaminsen , Christian R. Mouritsen and Símun Eiler Samuelsen, among others . He also won the Faroese Supercup in both years with a 3-1 win against champions EB / Streymur and a 2-1 win against cup winner Víkingur Gøta .

In the 2011 Supercup game, Av Fløtum pulled a muscle and was therefore out of the league's first seven match days. In 2013 he won his next championship title with HB at the side of Fróði Benjaminsen, Jóhan Troest Davidsen , Christian R. Mouritsen and Símun Eiler Samuelsen. The game for the Supercup 2014, however, HB lost 2-1 against cup winner Víkingur Gøta, as did the national cup final 0-1 against the same opponent. After the 2015 season, Av Fløtum paused for a year, after which he was only used sporadically for the first and second teams.

European Cup

Av Fløtum has played 23 appearances in Europe. He had the first in 1996/97 for HB Tórshavn in the qualifying round for the European Cup Winners' Cup , when he was substituted on for Rúni Nolsøe in the second leg against FC Dinamo Batumi in the final score of 3-0 in the 81st minute , HB had already played the first leg away 0: 6 lost.

National team

As a national player for the Faroe Islands , Av Fløtum made his debut in the Nordic Championship against Sweden in Växjö together with Christian Høgni Jacobsen and Súni Olsen on January 31, 2001 when he came on for Øssur Hansen in the 77th minute . In 34 games, he scored his only goal on April 29, 2003 in Tórshavn in a 2-1 win in the friendly against Kazakhstan , when he scored to equalize 1-1. He played his last international match on June 4, 2010 in the goalless friendly against Luxembourg in Hesperange .
