Næs began his career at home with HB Tórshavn . In 2003 he moved to B36 Tórshavn , which he remained loyal to until 2005, but was only used for the youth team. After this time he moved to BK Frem København in the second highest Danish league .

In his first season in Denmark he was third with Frem, which narrowly missed promotion to the Superliga . The following year, Frem was only tenth. Halfway through the next season, he moved to league rivals Fremad Amager in early 2007, but could not prevent relegation from the second division together with his compatriots Andrew av Fløtum and Todi A. Jónsson . Then Næs went to AB Argir for half a year and played in the first Faroese league for the first time . He made his debut on matchday 15 in the 0-1 away defeat against KÍ Klaksvík . After relegation to the second division he moved back to the second Danish division to Køge BK for six months , where he was able to secure relegation as 14th under coach Henrik Larsen and together with his compatriot Jóhan Gunnarsson . Næs changed country again and played for the Faroese club NSÍ Runavík .

In January and February 2009 Næs completed a trial training with the Norwegian second division club Notodden FK , which, however, could not commit him for financial reasons. He returned to BK Frem København in August 2009 via Hvidovre IF , for which he started running in April 2009 , where he played with fellow countryman Bogi A. Løkin from 2010 . At the end of the season, however, it was clear as the penultimate relegation to the third division. Until the end of the year Næs played for B36 Tórshavn , but this station did not last long either. For 2011 he was signed by Valur Reykjavík , the Icelandic coach Kristján Guðmundsson, dismissed by HB Tórshavn during the season, as well as Næs' compatriots Pól Jóhannus Justinussen and Christian Mouritsen were also signed by Valur. That year he won the League Cup with a 3-1 after extra time against ÍF Fylkir Reykjavík . At the beginning of 2012 he moved to Fremad Amager for half a year and then played again for Valur Reykjavík. At the end of 2013 he signed a contract with EB / Streymur . In 2015, Næs moved to league rivals B36 Tórshavn. In the game for the Supercup against cup winner Víkingur Gøta , he and his team were left behind on penalties, alongside Jákup á Borg and Odmar Færø , Næs won his first championship. Víkingur Gøta won the Supercup again the following year.

After the 2016 season, he left the club and joined the Icelandic first division club ÍBV Vestmannaeyja . There he won the Icelandic Cup with a 1-0 final win against FH Hafnarfjörður . The league ended in ninth place. Then Næs moved back to the Faroe Islands to B36 Tórshavn. In the game for the Supercup he and his team were defeated 0: 1 against champion HB Tórshavn.

European Cup

Næs played his first of four European Cup games in the first qualifying round for the 2016/17 Champions League . After a 0-1 away defeat against Valletta FC, the second leg was won 2-1, but B36 was eliminated due to the away goals rule . In the first qualifying round for the 2019/20 Europa League , he was also eliminated after a 2-0 and 3-2 draw.

National team

Internationally, Næs played 57 times for the Faroese national team . He made his debut together with Høgni Madsen on June 4, 2008 in the friendly against Estonia in Tallinn , which ended 3: 4, Næs played through here. He has not yet scored a goal. His last appearance was in the friendly against Liechtenstein on March 25, 2018 in Marbella . In the 3-0 win, he was replaced at halftime.
