Season course

Championship decision

KÍ Klaksvík and ÍF Fuglafjørður were both the only clubs to start the season with two wins. Due to the 1-1 draw by KÍ in the home game against B36 Tórshavn , ÍF took over the championship lead with a 3-1 home win against 07 Vestur on matchday three. However, this only lasted for a short time, as the following game at home was lost 2-0 against HB Tórshavn, who had previously placed third. After the fifth game day there was another change at the top of the table. While HB and KÍ couldn't get past a draw at home, Víkingur Gøta took the lead with a 3-2 home win over ÍF Fuglafjørður, their fourth win in their fifth game. They had to cede them one game day later to HB Tórshavn, who got the upper hand in the home stadium with a 3-0 win. HB remained unbeaten until the twelfth match day, the first defeat was brought to them away against EB / Streymur with 0: 2. There the lead over the runner-up ÍF was already seven points. After the second defeat of the season on the 19th match day at 1: 3 in the home game against Víkingur Gøta, it was already nine points ahead. These were again shortened to five points, as HB only got two draws in the next three games. This advantage existed after the 1: 3 defeat at ÍF on matchday 25, so that the next round could bring the decision of the championship. This also fell after a 1-0 home win by HB against TB Tvøroyri .

Relegation battle

AB Argir lost the first six games and scored for the first time in the 1-1 draw in the away game against B36 Tórshavn on matchday seven. After the eleventh game day, there were only two points to book, the gap to the first non-relegation place was eleven points. 07 Vestur was at this point in ninth place with seven points and only one win, which was achieved on the second match day in the home game against TB Tvøroyri with a 4-1. While 07 Vestur had no win in the next five games, AB achieved 13 out of a possible 15 points. The next two games were won, so that AB on the 17th matchday first occupied a non-relegation place, whereas TB Tvøroyri slipped to ninth place. Between the 14th and 20th matchday all games were lost and the gap to the eighth-placed KÍ Klaksvík was then five points. In the direct duel on matchday 21, TB prevailed away 3-2 and was able to reduce the gap to two points. This remained even after the 1: 2 away defeat on the next matchday against 07 Vestur. After the 24th matchday, KÍ played 3: 3 at home against EB / Streymur, while TB won 2-0 at home against AB Argir, KÍ and TB were tied, 07 Vestur was already eight points behind. After KÍ Klaksvík's 1-0 away win against AB on match day 25, they were the first to be relegated. TB also lost the distance again due to the 1: 2 away defeat against B36 Tórshavn and also had the much worse goal difference. After both KÍ and TB lost their games in the penultimate round, the second relegated was almost certain. On the last day of the match, the gap was increased to five points.
