Bárður Olsen (born December 5, 1985 ) is a Faroese football player who has played for B36 Tórshavn since 2020 and was also active for the national team .

The out Haldórsvík originating midfielder began his career at EB / Streymur . As a 16-year-old he made his debut in the first division in 2002 on the fifth matchday in the away game against KÍ Klaksvík , when he came on in the 73rd minute when the score was 1-1 for Jákup Martin Joensen . The game was lost with 1: 3. Since only the penultimate place was occupied at the end of the season, relegation games followed against the runner-up in the second division , B71 Sandur , in which Olsen was used. After a 1-0 win in the first leg, the second leg was lost 0-1, after which a play-off was scheduled. EB / Streymur won this 3: 1 and thus remained in the top division. In the league he was used regularly in the next season, but rarely played completely. From 2004 he played regularly from the beginning. He also scored his first goal in the first division that season. In the 1: 2 away defeat against VB Vágur on matchday 13, Olsen scored to equalize 1: 1.

In 2007 Olsen achieved their first success with EB / Streymur in the cup final with a 4: 3 against HB Tórshavn . In the Supercup against the Faroese champions NSÍ Runavík , however, a 4-0 defeat followed. But the success in the cup could be repeated with a 3-2 in the final against B36 Tórshavn . For the 2010 season, Olsen moved to B36 Tórshavn. After only one year, however, he returned to EB / Streymur in 2011. Already in the middle of the season Olsen moved to the second division AB Argir , but returned the following year after the failed promotion back to B36 Tórshavn in the first division. The next year Olsen signed a contract with HB Tórshavn . Together with Fróði Benjaminsen , Jóhan Troest Davidsen , Andrew av Fløtum , Christian Mouritsen and Símun Eiler Samuelsen , he won his second championship. In 2014 he left the club again and returned to AB Argir. In 2016 the penultimate place was taken, which resulted in relegation. With the first place in the 1st Deild the immediate rise was achieved.

After finishing ninth and seventh with AB Argir, Olsen has been playing for B36 Tórshavn since 2020.

European Cup

Olsen has played ten times in the European Cup. He made his debut in 2007/08 for EB / Streymur in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup against Myllykosken Pallo -47 . After the 0-1 defeat in the first leg, the second leg on the Faroe Islands ended 1: 1, which meant the elimination of EB / Streymur.

National team

Olsen played three caps for the Faroese national team . He made his debut together with Hans Pauli Samuelsen , Janus Joensen , Rasmus Nolsøe and Bjarni Jørgensen on May 14, 2006 in a 4-0 defeat in a friendly against Poland in Wronki , when he was 0 in the 62nd minute: 2 came on for Fróði Benjaminsen .
