Petur Reinert (born February 28, 1978 ) is a Faroese football player and referee . From 2007 to 2017 he was a FIFA referee alongside Alex Troleis .

Career

As a player

Reinert was active for LÍF Leirvík from 1996 , but was rarely used for the first team. In 1998 he made his debut in the first round match of the Cup against Royn Hvalba when he came on for Kristian í Vági in the 74th minute. The game was lost away with 1: 2. In 1999 he made five cup appearances, and after the 2-1 first leg success in relegation for promotion to the first division against SÍ Sumba in the second leg in the 83rd minute with the final score of 0: 5 for Kristian á Reynatrøð . Then he was in the squad again in 2000 and 2005, but there were no further deployments.

As an arbitrator

Reinert was initially used twice in the Faroese Women's Cup and their first division in 1996 , and he headed just as many games in the men's third division. In the next season he was mainly used in the second and third division of men, in total there were 20 games for men and women. His first game in the men's first division came in 1999 on the 15th matchday between B68 Toftir and VB Vágur . The men's first cup game followed in 2000 with the game between TB Tvøroyri and GÍ Gøta , and five more cup games were added this year. This was also the first year in which Reinert was used exclusively for men. In the next two years he only directed two or one game, in 2003 Reinert was completely out of play. In the second half of the 2004 season he returned to the football field, and the following year he was in charge of 30 games. In 2006 he was used in 26 games in the men's first division, which is still the record today. Here Reinert led two matches on several match days due to the postponement of the game. In 2007, 2008 and 2011 Reinert was also the referee most often in the first division.

Also in 2006 Reinert led two games in the Nordic Championship, the encounter between England and Sweden was his first appearance on an international level. So he succeeded Lassin Isaksen , who ended his career at the end of 2006. In club football, Reinert also played in the UEFA Intertoto Cup when Vėtra Vilnius and AFC Llanelli played . At the international level, the match in the qualification for the U-21 European Championship between Latvia and San Marino continued. In the same year Reinert headed in the 1st deild karla , the second highest Icelandic division of men, with the game between Fjölnir Reykjavík and UMF Stjarnan for the first time a game in a foreign league. By the end of 2019, Reinert headed a total of 320 first division games (299 for men (the second most behind Eiler Rasmussen), 21 for women), 119 second division games, five relegation games, 52 games in the Faroese Cup (45 for men, seven for women) , eleven European Cup matches, five A, one U-23, eleven U-21, two U-19 and 21 U-17 internationals. His home club as a referee was LÍF Leirvík at the beginning as well as as a player. Due to a merger with GÍ Gøta, he has been running for Víkingur Gøta since 2008 .

In November 2017, Kári á Høvdanum succeeded him as FIFA referee.

Personal

Reinert works full-time as a teacher in Tórshavn .
