The Meistriliiga 2013 was the 23rd season of the Estonian men's top division of football . The Estonian championship, which was officially held for the first time as A. Le Coq Premium liiga , began on March 2nd and ended on November 9th, 2013 with the 36th matchday. JK Nõmme Kalju started the season as the defending champion . However, the club could not defend the title from the previous year. The 2013 Estonian championship was secured early on matchday 34 of FC Levadia Tallinn , for which it also meant the eighth title in club history.
Season course
As in the previous season, the league comprised ten teams. The defending champion was JK Nõmme Kalju . Newcomer from the Esiliiga of FC Infonet Tallinn . The last starting place was determined in the relegation games in November 2012 between JK Tallinna Kalev and JK Tarvas Rakvere , whereby last year's Meistriliiga club from Tallinn prevailed.
The championship was played in a regular season in two round matches. Each team competed four times against every other team. The bottom of the table was relegated to the second-class Esiliiga , the ninth-placed played in the relegation against the runner-up in the Esiliiga 2013 .
Even before the start of the league were in the Supercup of JK Nõmme Kalju and FC Levadia Tallinn against which Levadia 3: won 0th
The opening game of the new season was played between Paide Linnameeskond and defending champion JK Nõmme Kalju and ended with a 3-2 away win for Nõmme. With a 4-1 win by FC Flora Tallinn against JK Tallinna Kalev , the capital's club was able to take the lead on matchday 1, and hold it until matchday 8, with the exception of matchday 3 when FC Levadia Tallinn were at the top. From the 9th matchday Nõmme Kalju was in front, but was ousted by Levadia from the 15th matchday. In the further course of the season Levadia established itself at the top of the table. On the 34th matchday Levadia was able to win the 8th championship title in Estonia prematurely after defeating FC Infonet 3-0. As a sporting relegation in the Esiliiga the FC Kuressaare was already determined, which could only collect 11 points. JK Tammeka Tartu took part in the relegation , who played against JK Tarvas Rakvere and won them. The top scorer was Vladimir Voskoboinikov , who scored 23 goals, for the first time since the 2010 Meistriliiga season again an Estonian.

Relegation
At the end of the regular season, the Meistriliiga placed ninth, JK Tammeka Tartu , competed against the Esiliiga runner-up , JK Tarvas Rakvere , in relegation. The games took place on November 17 and 23, 2013, with the second division first having home rights. With two wins (2: 1, 4: 1) from the club from Tartu , which was trained by the German Uwe Erkenbrecher , the class could be held. For JK Tarvas Rakvere it was the second missed promotion in a row after the relegation games in 2012 .
