Meistriliiga 1995/96

The Meistriliiga 1996/97 was the sixth season of the highest Estonian football division of men.

mode

The league consisted of eight teams and was conducted in a two-tier format. In the first round, each team competed against each other twice; once at home and once away.

After this phase, the six best teams qualified for the championship round, the last two played together with the four best teams in Esiliiga for the two remaining places for the next season.
