Meistriliiga 1992

The Meistriliiga 1992/93 was the second season of the highest Estonian football division of men. It was also the second since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 . It was played for the first time in the autumn / spring rhythm. FC Norma Tallinn was able to successfully defend its title from last year .

Season course

The league consisted of two teams fewer than in the debut season in 1992 . The champions were FC Norma Tallinn . JK Tulevik Viljandi and Keemik Kohtla-Järve were relegated to the Esiliiga . The club from Kohtla-Järve decided not to remain in the Meistriliiga.

Each team competed against each other team twice in a two-way round. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison counted. The Estonian Football Cup was won by FC Nikol Tallinn who competed in the European Cup Winners' Cup the following season and lost there in the first round against Lillestrøm SK . As the reigning Estonian champion Norma Tallinn failed in the Champions League season 1993/94 in the first qualifying round at HJK Helsinki .
