Jalgpalliklubi Tammeka Tartu is an Estonian football club from Tartu . The club colors are blue and white.
history
The club, founded in 1989, was not able to achieve any major successes in the early days despite its excellent youth work.
Until 2001 the club played at most third rate, then succeeded as a master of the II. Liiga promotion to the Esiliiga . There the club occupied the relegation place at the end of the 2002 season. Both games against MC Tallinn were lost, but league rival Maardu JK received no license and so the club was retained in the class. Also in the following season, the season was ended on a relegation zone, but since league competitor Merkuur Tartu took over the license from Levadia Tallinn and rose to the Meistriliiga , the class was again retained.
As a master of the Esiliiga at the end of the 2004 season , Tammeka made it to the Meistriliiga. Here the club was able to place itself in the midfield in the first two years.
After the 2006 season, Tammeka and Maag Tartu merged to form JK Maag Tammeka Tartu . The cooperation was dissolved again in 2009.
