history
Nõmme Kalju was founded in 1923. The re-establishment took place in 1997. After the team initially took up in the lower class area of the Estonian league pyramid, at the end of the 2005 season the promotion to the second-class Esiliiga succeeded . There the team finished in the first year in the ten-team league with the fifth place a safe midfield place. In the second year, the club was only sixth in the table, but since four not eligible second representatives of first division clubs were placed in the league in front of the club, Kalju Nõmme qualified for the promotion games against FC Kuressaare . After a 0-1 home defeat at the start, a 2-1 away win was achieved in the second leg and thanks to the away goals rule , the team was promoted to the Meistriliiga for the first time . In the 2012 season, the team was able to celebrate the national championship for the first time, again in a game against FC Kuressaare (October 9, 2012).
