Marko Kristal (born June 2, 1973 in Tallinn ) is a former Estonian football player and current coach . He played in midfield and was a long-time member of the Estonian national team .

Career

For most of his career Kristal played with Flora Tallinn in his home country . Only from July 1999 to December 2000 he played in Sweden with IF Elfsborg and in Finland with FC Lahti .

With Tallinn he was a total of six times Estonian champion, he also won twice the cup and four times the Supercup. He experienced all the title wins that Flora Tallinn has celebrated since the founding of the Meistriliiga . He ended his professional career in 2004, but was still an amateur player at FC Toompea from 2005 to 2011 and rose with the team during this time, among other things, from sixth division to the fourth highest level in the country.

Kristal played in the Estonian national team from 1992 to 2005, playing 143 games, making the second most appearances for Estonia after Martin Reim (156). At the end of his career, Kristal was the second most international player in the world, behind Reim, who never played in a World Cup.

From 2012 to 2015 he was the coach of FC Levadia Tallinn in the Estonian Meistriliiga with which the two champions.
