The Faroese Football Championship 1971 was held in the Meistaradeildin first Faroese league and was the 29th season overall. It started on May 2, 1971 and ended on September 5, 1971.

ÍF Fuglafjørður was accepted as a new permanent member in the top division and was the eleventh participant in this after the introduction of the league game in 1947 . Champion HB Tórshavn , which could thus win the title for the sixth time. Defending champion KÍ Klaksvík finished in second place.
