Formuladeildin 2006

The Faroe Islands Premier League in 2007 was in the Formuladeildin first mentioned Faroese played league and overall was the 65th season. It started on April 1, 2007 and ended on October 27, 2007.

Promoted B71 Sandur returned to the top division after five years, AB Argir was the 23rd participant in this after the introduction of the league game in 1947 . Thus, for the first time since the Faroese Football Championship in 1977 , three clubs from the same city played in the first division with AB, B36 Tórshavn and HB Tórshavn (Argir was incorporated into Tórshavn in 1997). Master was NSÍ Runavík , who could win the title for the first time. Defending champion HB Tórshavn finished in fourth place. On the other hand, AB Argir had to relegate after one year and VB / Sumba after two years of excellence.

Compared to the previous season, the goal rate worsened to 3.17 per game, which was the lowest average since 2003 . The highest victories were achieved by EB / Streymur with a 6: 1 in the home game against VB / Sumba on matchday 25, KÍ Klaksvík with a 5-0 also in the home match against VB / Sumba on matchday two and GÍ Gøta with 5-0 against Skála ÍF on the 26th matchday.

mode

In the Formuladeildin , each team played three times against each other on 27 match days. Due to the previous year's placement, HB Tórshavn , EB / Streymur , B36 Tórshavn , KÍ Klaksvík and NSÍ Runavík played an additional home game. The team with the best points at the end of the season was clear as the champions of this league, the last two teams relegated to the 1st Deild , the Faroese second division. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison was no longer decisive, but, as before, the goal difference, then the goals scored.

Season course

Championship decision

EB / Streymur led the table from the second game day and did not give up this place until the eleventh game day. Of the first eight games seven were won, but only one victory followed from the next four matches. After a 1: 2 at Skála ÍF , B36 Tórshavn , NSÍ Runavík and EB / Streymur were tied at the top of the table. Since B36 then lost 2-1 at AB Argir , while NSÍ was able to win 1-0 against HB Tórshavn , the lead changed again. Of the next five games, NSÍ won four and drew one. After the 1: 2 home defeat against Skála ÍF on matchday 19, B36 came back to first place, which in turn celebrated six wins in a row. After three draws and only one win from the next four games, B36 and NSÍ swapped places for the last time. The decision about the championship was made on the penultimate matchday. The NSÍ won its home game against VB / Sumba 3-1 and was able to win the title early in the simultaneous 2-4 defeat of second B36 Tórshavn at EB / Streymur.

Relegation battle

VB / Sumba won the game 1-0 against AB Argir on matchday one. The next nine games were all lost, from the fifth game day the last place was occupied. On the twelfth matchday, a 1-0 win against KÍ Klaksvík was the second and last win of the season. After a series of draws, the last place could be left for a short time on matchday 18, but the gap to eighth place was already ten points. From the 19th matchday until the end of the season, the last place was consistently occupied. After the direct duel against eight-placed B71 Sandur was lost 3-2 at home on the 23rd matchday , the team was the first to be relegated.

After two defeats and a draw at the beginning of the season, AB Argir was already relegated to the third matchday. This could be left by a 2-0 at Skála ÍF. After eight consecutive games without a win, the next win followed on matchday 13 with a 2-1 win against B36 Tórshavn. After five defeats in a row, AB slipped to last place, which could be abandoned by a draw on the following match day, but a further improvement in the ranking did not succeed. On the 25th matchday, the promoted team lost their home game against HB Tórshavn with 1: 2, so that relegation could no longer be realized.
