The 2007 League of Ireland was the 87th season of the top Irish football league . It started on March 9, 2007 and ended on November 9, 2007. The defending champion was Shelbourne FC .

Drogheda United won the championship for the first time. Newcomers were the champions of the First Division Shamrock Rovers and Galway United in third. The second Dundalk FC , however, was denied promotion.
