The Richmond Park ( Irish Páirc Richmond ) is a football stadium in the Inchicore district of the Irish capital Dublin . The sports facility, opened in 1925, has space for 5,340 spectators, 2,800 of which are seats. It serves as the home ground of the St Patrick's Athletic football club .

history

For the first five years, Brideville Dublin football club played its home games in Richmond Park. From 1930 to 1951, the sports facility was home to St. Patrick's Athletic, before it was ascertained with promotion to the League of Ireland that the lawn of Richmond Park was not suitable for top division football. Therefore, the club had to move to other stadiums for the time being and Richmond Park was renovated until 1960. Since then, St. Patrick's has been playing permanently in the facility.

The finals of the Irish Cup competition of 1982 and 2005 have so far taken place in Richmond Park . A number of women's international games and youth tournaments also take place here. Other clubs such as Shamrock Rovers or Dublin City also used Richmond Park for their home games at times while their stadiums were being rebuilt.

In addition to soccer, Richmond Park was also used for concerts. In 1970 the groups Mungo Jerry and Thin Lizzy appeared.
