Bray ( Irish Bré , pronunciation : [ bʲɾʲeː ], Eng . Slope, embankment, hill) is a seaside resort in County Wicklow, Ireland . Bray is a good twenty kilometers south of Dublin .
geography
Bray is the largest city in County Wicklow with 32,600 inhabitants (2016). The Dargle River flows into the sea here.
The neighboring cities are Dalkey and Shankill in the former County Dublin in the north, Greystones in County Wicklow in the south, and in the west Enniskerry at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains . The highest points in the area are the Great Sugar Loaf at 501 m, Little Sugar Loaf at 342 m, and Bray Head at 241 m.

Further inland near Bray and Shankill are the remains of an old lead smelter, remnants of the lead mines in Ballycorus.
Bray is also home to the Aardmore Studios, the largest film studios in Ireland.
In the old Irish myth Táin Bó Froích (“Driving away the Froech cattle”), Bré (the “black water” of Dublinn Fraích ) plays a role in the attempt by King Ailill mac Máta of Connacht to kill the unloved son-in-law Froech .
At the eastern foot of the Bray Head lies the first hidden geocache in Europe, “Europe's First”.
