Enniskerry

Enniskerry ( Irish : Áth na Sceire or older Áth na Scairbhe ) is a small town with 1881 inhabitants (2006) in the county of Wicklow , Ireland . The place is on the Dargle River at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains .

Due to its central location, the place is the starting point for everyone who wants to visit the Wicklow Mountains . From the place you can see Sugarloaf Mountain , the "Sugar Loaf of Ireland".

The place itself offers a few small shops, pubs , a hotel and some bed and breakfasts .

The R117 road connects the town, which is 20 km south of Dublin , with the national road N11 , which runs south from Dublin. A bus leaves the center of Dublin every hour.

  • Dublin can be easily reached by bus from Enniskerry (bus 44 from Townsend St. Dublin).
  • The park Powerscourt Gardens can be reached from the village on foot. Powerscourt Waterfall is just a short drive away.
