Melanie Clark Pullen (born 1977 in Bray , County Wicklow ) is an Irish actress .

life and career

Melanie Clark Pullen was born in 1977 in Bray, 20 km south of Dublin . She studied drama at Trinity College , Dublin, from which she graduated in June 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts (Drama Studies and Modern Irish) . Immediately afterwards she was cast for the role of Mary Flaherty in the BBC Soap Opera EastEnders , which she left in 1999 after 134 episodes. In the following years she was mainly seen in television productions. In the German-speaking world, she became known through her participation in the British crime series George Gently - The Unbribable , broadcast on ZDF in 2011 . As a stage actress she had engagements at the National Theater and the Lyttelton Theater, among others.

For the 2006 short film Marion agus an Banphrionsa (Marion and the Princess), made by Melanie Clark Pullen in personal union as producer, screenwriter and director , she received the award in the category “Best Irish Language Film” at the 51st Cork Film Festival .

Melanie Clark Pullen speaks Irish and English very well, French and German. She is married to the writer Simon Maxwell.
