The Faroese Women's Football Championship 2007 was held in the 1. Deild called first Faroese league and was the 23rd season overall. It started on April 1, 2007 and ended on September 22, 2007.
Champion was defending champion KÍ Klaksvík , who could win the title for the eighth time in a row and for the ninth time overall. However, NSÍ Runavík , who withdrew from the game, and EB / Streymur had to relegate after two and five years of first class respectively.
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate worsened to 3.98 per game, which was the lowest average since 1994 . The highest wins were achieved on matchday 16, respectively, by B36 Tórshavn with an 8-1 home game against EB / Streymur, which was also the highest-scoring game, and KÍ Klaksvík with a 7-0 home game against AB Argir .
mode
By reducing to six teams in the 1st Deild and the withdrawal of NSÍ Runavík , each team played four times against each other on 16 game days, there was no longer a division into preliminary and championship or relegation round. The team with the best points at the end of the season was the champions of this league, the last two teams were relegated to the 2nd Deild . In the event of a tie, the direct comparison was no longer decisive, but, as before, the goal difference, then the goals scored.
Season course
Championship decision
On the fourth day of the match, the teams B36 Tórshavn and KÍ Klaksvík , which had been free of loss points, met each other, with B36 holding the upper hand 1-0 in the home stadium. However, since they denied one game less due to the unevaluated results against NSÍ Runavík , they could only overtake KÍ on the fifth match day. They had to give up the lead again on the eighth day of the match, as they then had one game less and the worse goal difference against KÍ. In the second leg of both teams KÍ Klaksvík was able to defend the lead with a 2-1 home win. On the 13th matchday the third duel ended 0-0, on the 18th matchday 2-2. Since both KÍ and B36 Tórshavn did not submit any further points against any of the other teams in the league, they were tied before the last match day. Thus KÍ secured the championship with a 5-0 away win against GÍ Gøta , the 5-2 away win of B36 against AB Argir remained without value.
Relegation battle
Since NSÍ Runavík withdrew from the game operation, the first relegated was determined. The second relegated was determined between EB / Streymur and AB Argir. EB / Streymur scored their first point on matchday four in a 2-2 home game against GÍ Gøta and thus passed AB at first. They expanded their lead to four points with a 3-2 away win against AB Argir. AB, on the other hand, was only able to score for the first time on the tenth match day in a 1-1 draw in the second leg against EB / Streymur. On the 14th matchday they did not get more than 0-0 in the home game against EB / Streymur, at that time they were already five points behind. On matchday 17, however, the first win followed with a 5-1 in front of a home crowd against GÍ Gøta. On the 19th matchday there was another clash with EB / Streymur, this time AB retained the upper hand with a 1-0 away win and was able to overtake EB / Streymur again, Bjørg Syderbø scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute. Since the direct competitor remained free of play on the last day of the match, AB Argir was able to secure relegation on its own with an initially three goals better goal difference. Due to the 2: 5 defeat against B36 Tórshavn, the three more goals scored in favor of AB, with exactly the same goal difference against EB / Streymur.
