The Faroese Football Championship for women in 1991 was held in the 1. Deild called first Faroese league and was the seventh season overall. It started on May 5, 1991 and ended on September 22, 1991.
Promoted MB Miðvágur returned to the top division after four years. Champion became ÍF Fuglafjørður , who could win the title for the first time. Defending champion Skála ÍF landed in fourth place. However, MB Miðvágur had to relegate after a year of first class. MB Miðvágur stayed here over the entire season without winning a point. Otherwise only GÍ Gøta II ( 1985 ), MB Miðvágur ( 1986 ) KÍ Klaksvík ( 1987 ), NSÍ Runavík ( 1989 ) and Skála ÍF ( 1998 ) remained without a point .
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate improved to 3.36 per game. HB Tórshavn scored the highest victory with a 7-0 home game against MB Miðvágur on matchday one, which was the highest-scoring game alongside the 2: 5 between KÍ Klaksvík and ÍF Fuglafjørður on matchday nine.

Championship decision
HB Tórshavn moved up to the top of the table from the start with wins in their first three games. After the away defeat on the fourth matchday against Skála ÍF , ÍF Fuglafjørður pushed past, who only surrendered the first point on the next matchday with a 1-1 at now runner-up HB Tórshavn. In the following seven games, a further point was only given in 3: 3 in the home game against Skála ÍF on the tenth match day, so that on the twelfth match day the championship was decided by a 1-0 win against the direct pursuer HB Tórshavn. The only defeat conceded ÍF on the following match day at 2: 3 in the away game against B36 Tórshavn .
Relegation battle
From the first to the last match day, MB Miðvágur was at the bottom of the table. After the 0: 5 on the eleventh game day against ÍF Fuglafjørður, the deficit was eight points unattainable with three remaining game days and relegation was sealed. All games were lost during the season.
