The Faroese women's football championship in 1987 was held in the first Faroese league called 1. Deild and was the third season overall. It started on April 26, 1987 and ended on September 20, 1987.

Promoted SÍ Sumba returned after a year in the top division. Champion was B36 Tórshavn , who could win the title for the second time. Defending champion HB Tórshavn finished in second place. KÍ Klaksvík remained over the entire season without winning a point. Otherwise only GÍ Gøta II ( 1985 ) MB Miðvágur ( 1986 and 1991 ), NSÍ Runavík ( 1989 ) and Skála ÍF ( 1998 ) remained without a point .

Compared to the previous season, the goal rate worsened to 3.44 per game. The highest win was achieved by EB Eiði in the home game against SÍ Sumba on matchday 11 and HB Tórshavn in the away match against SÍ SUmba on matchday 12 with 7-0 each. Besides the 2: 5 between KÍ Klaksvík and B36 Tórshavn on matchday seven, these were the highest-scoring games.

By reducing to seven teams in the 1st Deild , each team now played twice against each other on twelve match days. The team with the best points at the end of the season was the champions of this league. The descent has been suspended for this year.

Season course

B36 Tórshavn and HB Tórshavn fought the duel for the championship. When they first met, B36 lost 3-1, but did not give up any more points until the second leg. HB, on the other hand, did not get beyond a 1-1 draw on matchday five in the away game against EB Eiði . In the renewed duel against B36 on the eleventh game day, they also lost 2-0. Since there were no further point losses by either team, B36 Tórshavn was the champions.
