The Faroese Women's Football Championship 2012 was held in the 1. Deild called first Faroese league and was overall the 28th season. It started on April 1, 2012 and ended on September 23, 2012.
The promoted B68 Toftir / NSÍ Runavík , ÍF Fuglafjørður , EB / Streymur and FC Suðuroy returned to the top division after two, 15, one and three years respectively. Champion was defending champion KÍ Klaksvík , who could win the title for the 13th time in a row and for the 14th time overall. However, FC Suðuroy had to relegate after a year of first class.
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate improved to 4.70 per game. The highest victory achieved KÍ Klaksvík with a 26: 0 in the home game against FC Suðuroy on the first day of play, which was also the highest victory in the history of the 1. Deild as well as the highest-scoring game of the season.

Season course
From the first to the last match day, KÍ Klaksvík took first place. The only dangerous rivals B36 Tórshavn and AB Argir were beaten 4-0 away on matchday three and 3-0 at home on matchday eight. KÍ also won the second leg against B36 1-0. Only in the 1-1 away game against HB Tórshavn on matchday 15, points were given. The decision for the championship was made on matchday 16. AB Argir lost all championship chances by losing 3-0 at home to HB Tórshavn, while KÍ Klaksvík triumphed 10-0 in the home game against B68 Toftir / NSÍ Runavík .
Since FC Suðuroy withdrew from the game, the relegated party was determined.

European Cup
In 2012/13 KÍ Klaksvík played last year’s champions in the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying round . The first two games were lost 7-0 to Apollon Limassol (Cyprus) and 2-1 to Schytlobud-1 Kharkiv (Ukraine). The team won the last game 11: 1 against Ada Velipoje (Albania), which was the biggest victory of a Faroese team. The group was thus finished in third place.
