The Faroese women's football championship in 1992 was held in the first Faroese league called 1. Deild and was the eighth season overall. It started on May 2, 1992 and ended on September 12, 1992.
Promoted SÍ Sumba returned after three years in the top division. Master was Skála ÍF , who could win the title for the second time. However, defending champion ÍF Fuglafjørður had to relegate for the first time as a founding member of 1. Deild . This was the only time that last year's champion was relegated.
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate worsened to 2.98 per game, which after 1993 meant the second lowest average since the introduction of the 1st Deild in 1985 . The biggest win achieved KÍ Klaksvík on the twelfth matchday with an 8-0 in the away game against SÍ Sumba, which was also the most scoring game.
mode
In the 1st Deild , each team played twice against each other on 14 match days. The team with the best points at the end of the season was clear as champions of this league, the last team relegated to the 2nd Deild .

Championship decision
Skála ÍF led the table after wins from the first two games, but had to give up the lead after a 3-4 loss in the away game against KÍ Klaksvík to VB Vágur , who in turn achieved two wins and a draw from the first three games. After the 1: 2 home defeat in a direct duel against Skála ÍF on the fifth match day, the places between the two teams were swapped. By the twelfth matchday, Skála only lost one point, but there the team lost the second leg at home against VB Vágur 1-0. After a 0-0 away game against ÍF Fuglafjørður on the next matchday, VB Vágur were back in first place, who had a better goal difference with the 4-0 against B36 Tórshavn . Only one point behind was KÍ Klaksvík, who met the first in the table on the last matchday at home. VB Vágur was beaten 1-0 here. Master was however Skála ÍF with a 7-0 against HB Tórshavn .
Relegation battle
After SÍ Sumba lost the first three games, the first win followed on the fourth game day with a 3-0 against ÍF Fuglafjørður. ÍF also lost the home game against the new last-placed HB Tórshavn 1: 2 on the following match day and was then at the end of the table again. Except for the 2-2 in the away game against KÍ Klaksvík on the first day of play, all games were lost up to and including the eleventh day of the game. In the second leg against HB Tórshavn, the 1-0 away win on matchday 12 saw the first double point win. Even the 0-0 on the next matchday in the home game against Skála ÍF was of no use in terms of relegation, as HB Tórshavn pulled away by the 1-0 home win against SÍ Sumba on four unassailable points.
