The former football field of Eiði is called á Mølini and is located in the far north of the Faroe Islands towards the open North Atlantic.

EB / Streymur , an amalgamation of EB Eiði and the neighboring club ÍF Streymur , is a Faroese football club based in Eiði on the island of Eysturoy . The club won the Faroese Cup in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and the Faroese Championship in 2008 and 2012.

history

In 1992 EB Eiði finished last in the second division as a promoted team, while ÍF Streymur only played third class. In order to be stronger in league football, the union to the club EB / Streymur took place on January 23, 1993 . In the first season, as the runner-up in the second division, the promotion promptly succeeded, with which the new club played for the first time in 1994 in the first Deild (now Betrideildin ). However, the team rose immediately back to the second division. In 1996 the new grass field á Mølini was put into operation. Because of its scenic location, it was voted the most beautiful football pitch in the Kingdom of Denmark . 2001 saw the renewed promotion to the top division, in which EB / Streymur has now become a fixture. After a second place was achieved in 2006 and 2007, the first championship title was celebrated in 2008, and the double was achieved in the same year with the cup victory after the first victory in the cup competition the year before. Further cup wins followed in 2010 and 2011, which means four titles in this competition in the last five years. In the 2012 season, the club won the second championship title and only failed in the cup final. After being relegated in 2015, the first place to climb back up immediately.

In 2005 EB / Streymur played with 16 teams in the Faroese national league. Since Mølin no longer meets UEFA standards, EB / Streymur has been playing in Streymnes since 2007 .

Women's soccer

After the predecessor club EB Eiði stayed 15 years uninterrupted in the top division from 1985 until their retirement in 1999, the women's team from EB / Streymur played in the 1st Deild for the first time in 2000 and always took one of the lower places. In 2004 the team was in the cup final, but lost 0:15 against KÍ Klaksvík . In 2007, the last place was relegated from the first division, but EB / Streymur returned after a break of only one year as first place in the second division. In 2010 EB / Streymur withdrew voluntarily as the penultimate one. After a third place in the second division in 2011, thanks to the increase in the first division to ten teams, the return to the top division followed. For the 2013 season, the club merged with Skála ÍF as EB / Streymur / Skála .
