The Faroese women's football championship in 1985 was held in the first Faroese league called 1. Deild and was the first season overall.

The champion was determined after completing the league games in a final, which B36 Tórshavn won . However, LÍF Leirvík , TB Tvøroyri , SÍ Sumba and GÍ Gøta II had to relegate, and NSÍ Runavík also withdrew from the game. GÍ Gøta II remained without a point win over the entire season. Otherwise only MB Miðvágur ( 1986 and 1991 ), KÍ Klaksvík ( 1987 ), NSÍ Runavík ( 1989 ) and Skála ÍF ( 1998 ) remained without a point .

The goal rate was 4.19 per game. The biggest win achieved B36 Tórshavn with a 12-0 in the away game against GÍ Gøta II, which was also the highest-scoring game.

In the 1st Deild , the teams were initially divided into two groups. There, each team played twice against each other on ten or twelve match days. The teams with the highest points in each group played the champions in a final, the last two teams in each group were relegated to the 2nd Deild .
