The Faroese women's football championship in 1999 was held in the first Faroese league called 1. Deild and was the 15th season overall. It started on April 30, 1999 and ended on October 2, 1999.
Promoted VB Vágur returned to the top division after four years. Champion HB Tórshavn , which could thus win the title for the seventh time. Defending champion B36 Tórshavn came in second. However, EB Eiði as a founding member of 1. Deild and LÍF Leirvík had to relegate for the first time after four years of first class, both of which withdrew from the game.
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate improved to 5.58 per game, which was the highest average since the introduction of the 1st Deild in 1985 . HB Tórshavn achieved the highest victory with a 9-1 home game against VB Vágur on matchday eight, which was the highest-scoring game next to the 4: 6 between KÍ Klaksvík and B36 Tórshavn on matchday 18.

By reducing to six teams in the 1st Deild and after the withdrawal of EB Eiði and LÍF Leirvík , each team played four times against each other on twelve match days. The team with the best points at the end of the season was the champions of this league. The relegation games were abolished again.
Season course
HB Tórshavn remained unbeaten in the first seven games and thus sat at the top of the table. On the 14th and 15th matchdays both the 2: 3 home defeat against B36 Tórshavn and the 3: 4 away defeat against KÍ Klaksvík for the first time in the season did not win any points, but the championship lead could be maintained. The championship decision was made on matchday 18. HB Tórshavn won the home game 2-1 against their direct pursuer VB Vágur and could not be overtaken.
Since EB Eiði and LÍF Leirvík withdrew from the game operation, the relegated team was determined.
