Apollonios ( Greek  Ἀπολλώνιος ), son of Menestheos, was a governor of the Seleucids in the 2nd century BC. Chr.

Under Seleucus IV (187-175 BC) Apollonios officiated as successor to Apollonius, son of Thraseas , as governor ( strategos ) in Koilesyria and Phenicia . 170/169 BC He appeared in Alexandria as the envoy of Antiochus IV when Ptolemy VI took over the reign . on.

Apollonios, son of Menestheos, was probably identical with that Apollonios, who was already 173 BC. Appeared as a Seleucid ambassador in Rome . Probably only after 170/169 BC. In BC he fell out of favor with Antiochus IV, whereupon he had to go into exile in Miletus . His sons were Apollonios, Meleager, Menestheos and Lachares, the first three of whom in Rome belonged to Demetrios I's entourage and were decisively involved in his escape.
