Tolga Ciğerci [ ˈtɔlɡɑ ˈdʒiːɛɾdʒi ], (born March 23, 1992 in Nordenham ) is a German - Turkish soccer player who has been under contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul since August 2018 .
Career
Youth teams
From 1998 Ciğerci played for the SV Phiesewarden, a club from his hometown Nordenham. Two years later he moved to Arminia Vöhrum from Peine , for whom he played until 2005. After being recommended by Wolfsburg youth scout Lars Mrosko, he came to VfL Wolfsburg . In Wolfsburg, Tolga Ciğerci went through the youth teams from 2005. From the A-youth he moved to Wolfsburg's second team in the Regionalliga Nord in the 2010/11 season , but trained with the professionals.

He made his debut in the Bundesliga on November 28, 2010 in the away game against 1. FC Köln , in which he started for Cícero Santos and played 90 minutes. The game ended 1-1. When coach Steve McClaren was dismissed due to the sporting situation, his successors waived Ciğerci. Borussia Monchengladbach
During the winter break of 2012, VfL Wolfsburg lent Ciğerci to Borussia Mönchengladbach until June 30, 2013 , and a purchase option was also agreed. There he made his debut in the Bundesliga team of Borussia on February 18, 2012 in the game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern when he came on for Marco Reus in stoppage time. Hertha BSC
In September 2013 Ciğerci was awarded to Hertha BSC for one year . A purchase option for one million euros was also stipulated in the contract. He scored his first goal in the Bundesliga on December 8, 2013 in a 2-0 win against Eintracht Braunschweig . On April 14, 2014, Hertha BSC used the purchase option; he received a contract until 2017.
Galatasaray Istanbul
On August 8, 2016, Ciğerci signed a three-year contract with Galatasaray Istanbul. Hertha BSC received a transfer fee of three million euros for him. Just a few days after his move, he won the Turkish Supercup with Galatasaray . In the 2017/18 season Ciğerci became Turkish champions with Galatasaray. On August 29, 2018, his contract with the Turkish champions was terminated.
National team
Due to the origin of his parents, he is also eligible to play for Turkish national teams, but initially decided to play for the DFB . For the German U-19 national team , he completed five international matches in 2010, scoring the 2-1 lead in a 2-2 friendly against the Dutch U-19 on September 3, 2010.
At the end of September 2012, Ciğerci decided to play for the Turkish national team.
