The Uhlsport GmbH (proper spelling uhlsport GmbH ) is an international German sporting goods manufacturer based in Baden-Württemberg Balingen . Founded in 1948, the company specializes in products for team sports.

Uhlsport was founded in 1948 as Haase & Uhl OHG . At that time the focus was on the production of leather studs. In 1953, the company also began producing football soles for sports shoe manufacturers. In the course of the company's development, the product range was expanded to include items such as shin guards, sports bandages, footballs and goalkeeper gloves . The company, which has been operating as uhlsport GmbH since 1994 (previously Karl Uhl GmbH ), has been pursuing a multi-brand strategy for football , handball and basketball since 2002 .

Under the brand of the same name , uhlsport focuses on football, especially goalkeeping equipment. Handball equipment has been marketed via the in-house brand Kempa since 2002 , and uhlsport also holds the European distribution rights for the American basketball brand Spalding .

The company has an indirect sales structure with subsidiaries in France , Spain and Sweden and country representatives in the United Kingdom , the Benelux countries and Switzerland . In addition, Uhlsport has over 80 sales partners worldwide. In 1998 the family business was sold by the Uhl family to the Daiss family.
