Simone Tippach-Schneider

Simone Tippach-Schneider (* 1962 in Warnemünde ) is a German publicist and exhibition organizer with a focus on: the history of industrial mass culture, everyday culture and art in the GDR and contemporary art.

biography

After completing an apprenticeship as a decorator, Tippach-Schneider first studied advertising economics at the College of Advertising and Design in Berlin from 1981 . This was followed by a degree in cultural and art studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin until 1990 . In 1996 she received a “scholarship to research the radio and media history of the GDR” from the German Broadcasting Archive DRA and did her doctorate in 2001 at the Faculty of Education and Training. Social sciences at the Berlin University of the Arts with the study Advertising TV in the GDR from 1959 to 1976 - Lifestyle Patterns of Industrial Mass Culture in the Tension of Social Reality . She worked full-time for five years as an editor for the specialist magazine "Neue Werbung" at the publishing house Die Wirtschaft Berlin. She then took on assignments for press and public relations work at the Kulturamt Mitte von Berlin and at BAO Berlin-Marketing Service GmbH. In 1993 she started working as a freelance writer for the specialist magazines "Affiche", The International Poster Magazine (Arnheim / Netherlands), and "Junge Kunst", a magazine of the Fördergemeinschaft Junger Kunst eV, as well as the Berlin cultural newspapers " Scheinschlag " and "Freiraum". At the same time, she coordinated the further training projects at IDZ, Internationales Design Zentrum Berlin eV for three years. Since 1996, Tippach-Schneider has been working as a freelance writer and curator. Furthermore, she created cultural usage concepts for historical buildings on behalf of state and private sponsors.
