Bekir Barçın (born January 1, 1949 in Trabzon ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. He was an important member of the Trabzonspors team , which was the first Anatolian team to win the Turkish championship. Barçın was part of that great Trabzonspor team, better known as Karadeniz Fırtınası, and dominated Turkish football for a decade for six seasons .
Career
society
The beginnings of Barçın's football career are undocumented. In the summer of 1972 he was accepted into the professional squad at the second division Trabzonspor , the strongest club in his hometown. This club was founded five years earlier through the merger of several local clubs and had the intention to represent the city of Trabzonspor in the 1st league with local talent . In his first season, Barçın completed eight league games and one cup game for his team. His club was in a neck and neck race for the championship with Kayserispor in the 1972/73 season . At the end of the season Barçıns team lost on points with Kayserispor due to a less scored goal. In the next season, Barçın increased his league stakes to 19 games. His club led the league confidently for most of the season, reaching the championship of the 2nd league at the end of the season and thus the long-awaited promotion to the 1st league. In addition to the promotion, the team reached the Turkish Cup final for the first time in the club's history . As a result, Barçın was part of the team that reached the cup final as the first second division.
The first season in the top Turkish league went well for Barçın, so he increased his stakes, despite the higher league, to 23 games and was in the starting line-up in 19 games. His team finished ninth in the table. In the second first division season they reached the championship completely surprisingly. Up to this season, the three big Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş Istanbul , Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul decided the championship of the Süper Lig among themselves. With Eskişehirspor , another Anatolian club narrowly missed the championship three times, but the ban remained. It was only solved with Trabzonspor's championship. The team also won the President's Cup and the Prime Minister's Cup this season . Barçın completed most of the compulsory players of his team this season and also made it into the Turkish national team. He was three seasons with the big Trabzonspor team better known as Karadeniz Fırtınası and dominated Turkish football for the next decade. In the 1976/77 season his club succeeded in defending the title in the Turkish championship and the first title in the Turkish Cup. Barçın was also part of the team that won the first Turkish double victory in club history. After this very successful two seasons Trabzonspor only awarded the championship to Fenerbahçe in the 1977/78 season with a point difference, but was able to get the two remaining cups. Among other things, winning the Turkish Cup was the first title defense in the club's history. While Barçın in the second championship season, the 1976/77 season, further solidified his place within the team, he lost his regular place in the 1977/78 season and completed ten league games.
Trabzonspor got into great financial difficulties in 1978 and saw the solution in selling some stars. In addition, they wanted to create a revision in the team. Barçın, who had lost his regular place last season, was put on the sales list. So Barçın moved to the second division Rizespor in the summer of 1978 . With this club he succeeded in the 1978/79 season, the championship and thus promotion to the 1st Lig. After this success, he left Rizespor again. The further career of Barçın is not further documented.
National team
Barçın was nominated for the first time in his career for the squad of the Turkish national team in March 1977 by national coach Metin Türel as part of a Balkan Cup match against the Romanian national team . In this game he made his international debut.
