Onur Alp Kayador (born June 5, 1955 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player and official. Through his many years of work for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and as a home-grown man, he is very strongly associated with this club. Fan and club members regard him as one of the most important players in club history.
Player career
Kayador started club football in the youth department of Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In the summer of 1974 he was involved in the training sessions of the professional team by head coach Valdir Pereira , but in the first season he did not play a competitive game. His team finished the 1st Lig 1974/75 with the Turkish championship . For the next season he was loaned to league rival Adana Demirspor and made his professional debut here on September 7, 1975 against Boluspor . Fenerbahçe kept him in the squad for the coming season. Kayador completed a league game for Fenerbahçe this season and ended with this the season behind the reigning champions Trabzonspor as runner-up. After two untitled years in the Turkish championship, the club's management carried out a squad revision and signed new players. In this environment Kayador fought for a regular place under the leadership of head coach Tomislav Kaloperović . At the end of the season Fenerbahçe was Turkish champion, making Kayador his first Turkish championship with commitment and his second Turkish championship overall. The next three seasons Kayador's team awarded the championship again to Trabzonspor, instead winning the Turkish Cup ( 1978/79 ) and three times the pre-season TSYD Istanbul Cup (1978/79, 1979/80, 1980/81). Kayador lost his regular place in the first two of these three seasons and played an average of twelve league games. It was not until the 1980/81 season that he rose again to become a regular player and made it into the Turkish national team during this season . His club experienced one of its weakest seasons this season and was even playing for relegation.
After this disappointing season from the club's point of view, a revision was carried out in the squad under the direction of head coach Friedel Rausch and several seasoned players were handed over. Instead, in addition to new purchases, the younger players were also established in the team. Kayador stood out as one of the service providers. The revision had an effect and so Fenerbahçe played again for the championship. After Rausch left the club after the 23rd match day, Enver Katip took over the team on an interim basis until the end of the season and finished the league in 3rd place in the table. Kayador completed 31 of the possible 32 league games of his team and won the Navy Cup with his club . For the 1982/83 season , Fenerbahçe hired the Yugoslav Branko Stanković as the new head coach. Under this coach, the team increased its previous year's performance. In the Turkish championship they prevailed against their worst rival Trabzonspor and won this trophy again after five years. In addition, the team won the Turkish Cup this season , making it a Turkish double winner for the third time in the club's history .
In the next season Kayadors team awarded the championship and the trophy again to Trabzonspor. The 1984/85 season brought Fenerbahçe back to the Turkish championship. Over the entire season, the team fought with Beşiktaş for the championship lead. At the end of the season, Fenerbahçe ended the season tied to Beşiktaş due to the better goal difference as champions. In addition, they won the President's Cup this season and the Navy Cup for the third time in a row . Kayador completed only two league games this season.
Despite the championship won, the club management replaced Veselinović by the Hungarian Kálmán Mészöly . Under this coach Kayador returned as a regular player in the team. This season Fenerbahçe ended the season far behind from the top of the table in 5th place. Since no title was won in the Turkish Cup either, Fenerbahçe did not qualify for any of the European cup competitions. Fenerbahçe showed this performance again the next season. Kayador, who was only used in five league games in the 1986/87 season, ended his active career in the summer of 1987.
National team
Kayador was part of a 1982 World Cup - qualifying match against the Czechoslovak national team . By 1984 Kayador completed five more internationals and scored one goal.
