Ariza Makukula (born March 4, 1981 in Kinshasa , Zaïre ) is a former Congolese - Portuguese football player . He is a dual citizen of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Portugal . With Kayserispor , Makukula was the top scorer of the Süper Lig in the 2009/10 season with 21 goals, which is considered his greatest personal success in his career.

Career

society

Ariza Makukula began his professional career as a reservist at Vitória Guimarães at the age of 18 . Without having played a single game, he moved to Spain for the second division UD Salamanca during the winter break . He was unable to assert himself there either and only switched to CD Leganés after six months . In Leganés he then got his chance to play and became a regular player. Then his ex-club UD Salamanca became aware of his potential and signed him again.

In that year he scored 21 goals before he left the club for a transfer fee of € 5.5 million, heading for Nantes, where he only scored one goal. He was then loaned back to Spain for a season to support the relegation-threatened club Real Valladolid and to collect match practice. After a good season, Sevilla FC became aware of the Portuguese and signed him for a fee of € 3.5 million. In Seville he only scored one goal and was awarded to the small club Gimnàstic de Tarragona 2 years later . There, too, he only managed one goal in 13 games. Thus, one year later he was awarded to the first division team Marítimo Funchal in Portugal , where he started again strong with 10 goals.

For the 2008 season, the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon secured the services of the Portuguese striker. But since the competition in the storm was too great, it was decided to lend Makukula to Bolton during the winter break for a rental fee of € 800,000. In total, he played only 6 games for Bolton and returned to Lisbon in 2009.

For the 2009/10 season he then moved back to Turkey on loan to the first division club Kayserispor , who had a purchase option of € 3 million at the end of the season. Makukula was able to convince there and was the top scorer of the Turkcell Süper Lig with 21 goals in 29 games . However, the purchase option was not drawn by Kayserispor, so he moved to Manisaspor for the 2010/11 season . At the end of the 2011/12 season Manisaspor missed relegation and was relegated to the TFF 1st Lig . Makukula then separated from the club.

At the end of August, his move to arch rivals Karşıyaka SK was announced. He signed a one-year contract. During the winter break he terminated his contract by mutual agreement and left the club. He then played for Vitória Setúbal and OFI Crete . After a brief engagement with BEC-Tero Sasana , he ended his career as a footballer.

National team

For Portugal he played four games in qualifying for the 2008 European Championship and scored a goal against Kazakhstan on his debut on October 17, 2007 .
