Esmée Olthuis

Esmée Olthuis (born January 28, 1969 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch jazz and improvisation musician ( alto , soprano and C melody saxophone , blockophone), composer and music pedagogue, who also works as a life coach, horse trainer and especially wayfinder .

In the Dutch jazz and improvisation scene, Olthuis first played in the De Boventoon orchestra with Herman de Wit , then mainly with Albert van Veenendaal and with the Tetzepi Big Band, in which she works with young people using what she calls the Tetzepi improvisation method ; she also wrote music for the short film Koffie (2012). According to jazz discographer Tom Lord , Olthuis participated in six recording sessions between 2000 and 2008.
