history

Entry into professional football

After Turkish professional football had been reduced from three to just two professional leagues in the summer of 1980, the third highest professional football league, the 3rd Lig , now known as TFF 2nd Lig , was reintroduced in 1984 on the directive of then President Turgut Özal . In addition, it was announced that after certain requirements and conditions have been met, you can apply for participation in the league. In order to promote urban development, several city notables tried to meet the requirements. A free area was provisionally converted into a football stadium or an existing stadium was adapted to the requirements. After the conditions were met, the Turkish Football Association confirmed participation. So Etibank SAS took part in the 1984/85 season of the re-introduced 3rd Lig. Already in the first season the club reached the championship of the 3rd Lig and rose for the first time in the club's history to the second highest Turkish league, then known as the 2nd Lig . This rise is still the greatest success in the club's history.

Guest performance in the 2nd Lig

The 1985/86 season was the only time Etibank SAS played in the 2nd Lig. The season developed into a debacle for the club, at the end of the season they could only collect 11 points, had a difference of -51 and took last place by a large margin (the next-placed Burdurspor had 25 points) and had to go back into gear compete in the 3rd league. They only won two games, both in a row, curiously, once they won 2-1 away against Izmirspor , and on the following day they defeated Şekerspor 3-0.

Back in the 3rd Lig

After returning to the 3rd Lig, Etibank SAS always played in the top third of the table in the following years, mostly third or fourth place was achieved. The return to the 2nd division could never be achieved. In the 1996/97 season they finished 16th. The club now plays in the regional amateur leagues.
