Besim Durmuş (born September 1, 1965 in Samsun ) is a former Turkish soccer player and current coach.

Player career

Besim Durmuş started professional football in the youth of Samsunspor . For the 1985/86 season he was included in the squad of professionals and completed five league matches by the end of the season. He played for this club for five years and moved to Kartalspor in the summer of 1990 . With two year olds at Göztepe SK and Kasımpaşa Istanbul , Durmuş played for Kartalspor until the end of his career in the summer of 2000.

As a coaching career

Following his playing career, he decided to start a coaching career. His first job was in 2002 as assistant coach at Kartalspor . For the next few years he worked in this position at various clubs.

In March 2009 he took over as head coach of the second division Kasımpaşa Istanbul and rose to the end of the season with his team as a relegation winner in the Süper Lig . After this success, he remained head coach in the new season. But since he had slipped relatively early with Kasımpaşa in the relegation region, he separated from the club by mutual agreement and was replaced by Yılmaz Vural .

For the 2010/11 season he took over İskenderun Demir Çelikspor and coached this club for a while.

In August 2011 he took over the second division club Kartalspor , where he was a long-time player. With this club he finished the 2011/12 season in ninth place in the table and thus achieved one of the best placements in the club's history. After a disappointing start to the 2012/13 season , he announced his retirement after the seventh match day. A little later, Özcan Kızıltan was introduced as his successor .

Before the 13th match day of the 2012/13 season he was introduced as the new coach of the second division team Samsunspor . Here he replaced the recently resigned Erhan Altın . At the end of the season he achieved relegation with Samsunspor. Although Durmuş still had a two-year contract with Samsunspor that was limited to the summer of 2014, the club management negotiated with the old coach Hüseyin Kalpar in the summer of 2013 and introduced him as the new coach. A few weeks after these developments, both sides agreed to terminate the contract. Two days after this contract was terminated, Kalpar signed with Samsunspor.

For the 2013/14 season he took over the second division club Kahramanmaraşspor . At this club he announced his resignation after just four matchdays.

Before the 14th matchday of the 2013/14 season he was hired as the new head coach at the second division Boluspor . After the 24th day of the same season Durmuş resigned from his position.

This was followed by employment at Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor and Çarşambaspor . In October 2017 he took over Samsunspor for the second time as head coach.
