Ángel Rubio Castro (born April 8, 1939 in Guadalupe ) is a Spanish clergyman and bishop emeritus of Segovia .

Life

The Archbishop of Toledo , Cardinal Enrique Pla y Deniel , ordained him a priest on July 26, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Toledo and titular bishop of Vergi on October 21, 2004 . He was ordained episcopate on December 12th of the same year by the Archbishop of Toledo , Antonio Cañizares Llovera ; Co-consecrators were Francisco Álvarez Martínez , Old Archbishop of Toledo, and Joaquín Carmelo Borobia Isasa , Auxiliary Bishop in Toledo. As a motto he chose Pro vobis et pro multis .

He was appointed Bishop of Segovia on November 3, 2007, and was introduced to the office on December 9 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 12, 2014.
