César Augusto Franco Martínez (born December 16, 1948 in Piñuécar , Spain ) is Bishop of Segovia .

Life

César Augusto Franco Martínez received on 20 May 1973, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1978 he graduated from the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid with a degree in Catholic theology . Franco Martínez also obtained a diploma in biblical studies from the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem in Jerusalem in 1980 . In 1983 he was at the Pontifical University of Comillas for doctor of theology doctorate .

May 14, 1996 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Ursona and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Madrid . The Archbishop of Madrid, Antonio María Rouco Varela , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Lajos Kada , and the Archbishop Emeritus of Madrid, Ángel Cardinal Suquía .

César Augusto Franco Martínez was the coordinator of the 2011 World Youth Day in Madrid.

On November 12, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Segovia. The inauguration took place on December 20 of the same year.
