Ali Beykoz (born November 14, 1964 in Hınıs ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

Beykoz was born in 1964 in Hınıs, a district in the Erzurum Province . Because his father was a civil servant and was assigned a civil service in the city of Bolu , the family moved to that city in 1969. Beykoz played street football here as a child. In 1976, at the age of twelve, he began playing club football in the youth of Boluspor . In 1983 he was involved in the training of the professional team and added to the expanded squad in some of the first division club's league games. Beykoz made his professional debut on December 25, 1983 during the league game against Denizlispor . By the end of the season, he completed eight more competitive appearances for his club. In the next season Beykoz captured a regular place in the course of the season and completed 22 competitive appearances by the end of the season. However, since his club missed relegation at the end of the season, the club's management decided to redesign the team. As a result, Beykoz also left the club and switched to the second division Konyaspor . At this club he worked with the coach Kadri Aytaç, who was highly regarded in Turkish football at the time , and developed into one of the most noticeable players in the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi .

After two years for Konyaspor he intended to extend his contract with this club. At this time, the traditional club Adanaspor , which had been relegated to the 2nd Lig after successful years in the Türkiye 1st Futbol Ligi in 1984, tried to climb back into the 1st league with a strong squad. For this purpose, attempts were made to engage shooting stars like Beykoz in addition to seasoned professionals. So those responsible negotiated with Beykoz. At that time he had no intention of leaving Konyaspor. Since he did not dare to give Adanaspor a direct refusal out of politeness, he stated a high salary demand for this time. To his surprise, Adanaspor agreed and so Beykoz moved to Adanaspor within the league in the summer of 1987. At his new club, he made the leap into the regular formation straight away. Although he was previously active in midfield, he was noticed in the first few days of the game because of his scoring danger. So he was used by coach Ali Hoşfikirer in the storm. Here Beykoz became a goal getter. His club ended the second division season 1987/88 as champions and thus achieved the long-awaited promotion to the first division. Beykoz was awarded a large share of this success due to his 17 goals this season and his assists. For the new season, Gündüz Tekin Onay, a new coach, took over the team. This put Beykoz back in midfield. Beykoz also knew how to convince and played in almost all of his club's competitive games.

With his performances in the 1998/89 season, Beykoz made it into the transfer list of all major clubs in the league. Bursaspor was the quickest to contact Beykoz. Immediately after the game against Rizespor on the last day of the match , Beykoz was picked up by the Bursaspor officials and brought to Bursa. Here he was held on the property of the local patron Cavit Çağlar for 26 days, until the end of the transfer window, and the move to another club was prevented. Beykoz himself sympathized with a move to Galatasaray Istanbul . Since Bursaspor offered Beykoz the same salary as Galatasaray and Beykoz was able to convince him to move, Beykoz signed with Bursaspor and thus became the most expensive transfer in the club's history. At his new employer, too, he made the leap into the regular formation straight away. Here he worked first with the coach Yılmaz Gökdel and after his contract termination for the 5th matchday of the season with the young coach Yılmaz Vural . At the end of the season, Bursaspor ended the 1989/90 season, while Beykoz was praised by the specialist press together with his teammate Nenad Bijedić . For the new season, a new coach was introduced at Bursaspor with the Romanian Ion Nunweiller . Although Bursaspor received unexpectedly poor results under this coach, Beykoz was one of the most important performers of his team. After Nunweiller was replaced by Đorđe Milić for the winter break , the team's performance increased and the league ended in 8th place in the table. In the summer of 1991, Beykoz's contract with Bursaspor ended. The then club president İbrahim Yazıcı negotiated with Beykoz for six hours and agreed to extend his contract for another year. In the 1991/92 season the club started with Milić as a coach. This coach was then replaced by Yılmaz Vural. Under this coach Beykoz lost his regular place, but he was used as a supplementary player or played from the beginning and was later replaced. This season he formed a successful team with then unknown players such as Vedat Vatansever , Ali Nail Durmuş , Hakan Şükür , Taner Ertaş and Feti Okuroğlu , all of whom would later become well-known greats in Turkish football. Beykoz was one of the experienced players with such experienced players as Feyzullah Küçük , Turan Şen and Ján Gabriel . With this team you reached the 6th place in the table. In the Turkish Football Cup of the same season they reached the final. In the cup final, which was played back and forth at the time, Bursa clearly won their first game in front of their home crowd with 3-0 against Trabzonspor . They lost the second leg with 1: 5 and missed the cup win that was believed to be safe. After missing the cup, they played against Fenerbahçe Istanbul in the Prime Minister's Cup . The game decided Bursaspor 3-1 for themselves and won this cup for the second time after 1971, in which the club already prevailed 1-0 against Fenerbahçe. Since Beykoz had sat almost exclusively on the bench towards the end of the season, he left the club at the end of the season.

In the summer of 1993 he moved to the second division Denizlispor . At this club he immediately established himself as a service provider. He played with the club for promotion to the first division and only missed it on the last day of the game. After a year at Denizlispor, Beykoz had several transfer offers, with the first division MKE Ankaragücü and the second division Zonguldakspor trying to get Beykoz. Finally, Zonguldakspor's President Şemsi Denizer Beykoz convinced to move to his club. After playing for this club for a year, Beykoz moved to league competitor Düzcespor in the summer of 1994 .

For the 1996/97 season he moved to his old club Adanaspor . This played in the meantime again in the 2nd league and tried through large investments of the new club owner and patron Cem Uzan to rise again. With Gündüz Tekin Onay, the coach was hired under whom the club celebrated its greatest successes in the 1970s and 1980s. This coach wanted three experienced players around whom he wanted to build a new team. One of these coaches was Ali Beykoz. After the move, he was promoted to team captain straight away as the most experienced player here. In the first season you missed promotion at the end of the season. After the direct promotion to the 1st league also failed in the 1996/97 season , the club qualified for the playoffs of the 2nd league, in which the last climber was indirectly determined. In the playoffs they reached the final and lost here on penalties to Ankara Şekerspor .

At the end of the season he left Adanaspor and returned to Bolu with the intention of ending his career . Here the club president of the local amateur club Mudurnuspor persuaded Beykoz to look after this club as a player-coach. So Beykoz started playing football again in the spring of 1998 after a six-month break. He led this club to the championship and thus to promotion to the 3rd league after just one season . After playing for Mudurnuspor in the 3rd league for a year and a half, the club was confiscated due to debts. The league competitor Türk Telekomspor found out about this and signed Beykoz as a loan player for the second half of the 1999/2000 season . Here you reached the championship of the 3rd Lig at the end of the season and thus promotion to the 2nd Lig . He then ended his active football career in the summer of 2000.

Coaching career

Beykoz already worked as a player- coach during his time at Mudurnuspor and led this club into the TFF 3rd Lig . He then continued his playing career at Türk Telekomspor . Following his playing career, he began to work at Boluspor as a youth coach. In February 2001 he became assistant coach of the professional team at this club. In September 2002 he took over the post of head coach at his old club Düzcespor . After a year in this position, he was presented again as an assistant coach at Boluspor.

From summer 2004 he trained Gölcükspor for two years and then took over the Istanbul club Alibeyköyspor . He led this club to the playoff victory of the third division season 2006/07 and thus to promotion to the TFF 2. Lig . He then trained for a year Alibeyköy and then several teams in the TFF 3rd Lig and TFF 2nd Lig.

In the summer of 2012 he coached the Boluspor youth team again . For the 2013/14 season he was introduced as the head coach of this second division club. After thirteen match days, he resigned from his position.
