Mehmet Gönülaçar (born March 3, 1972 in Batman ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach.
Athletic career
Gönülaçar began his career in 1990 with his home club Batman Petrolspor . With Batman Petrolspor, the midfielder played for two seasons in the 3rd division and came to 47 league appearances and scored 23 goals. With this performance he made other clubs aware of himself and was committed in the summer of 1993 by the first division club Gaziantepspor .
There Gönülaçar was loaned to Siirtspor after the first half of the 1992/93 season. In the following seasons he was one of the regular players in midfield. For the 1997/98 season, the midfielder moved to Galatasaray Istanbul . He won the Turkish championship with his teammates that season. Gönülaçar was loaned to six different clubs from 1998 until his contract ended in 2002. After his contract with Galatasaray expired, he ended his career.
Coaching career
Mehmet Gönülaçar's first coaching activity was in 2008 as an assistant coach at Siirtspor. In January 2012 he became head coach at Adıyamanspor in the 4th division.
Gönülaçar has been the head coach of Batman Petrolspor since November 22, 2018.
