For the upcoming season he was hired by third division club Kahramanmaraşspor . Here he played regularly in two years, but did not make it to the top performers.

In the summer of 2008 he moved to the west Turkish third division club Bucaspor . At this club he was used in the starting line-up from the start and was one of the league's shooting stars with ten goals in 19 games by spring 2009.

In the winter transfer period of the 2008/09 season he was brought to the first division club Bursaspor on the instructions of the new head coach Ertuğrul Sağlam . While he was carefully built up in the second half of this season by Sağlam and came on five games, he succeeded in the 2009/10 season ge jump into the regular formations. In the 2009/10 season he had his breakthrough and he is an integral part of the midfield. His team led the Süper Lig for almost the entire season and delivered a thrilling head-to-head race with Fenerbahçe Istanbul until the last match day, which they won. The won championship made Turkish football history by becoming the second Anatolian club after Trabzonspor to break the championship hegemony of the three big Istanbul clubs Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş . As a top performer, İpek was one of the most important players and, like the entire team, became one of the most legendary players in his club. During the first half of the 2012/13 season, İpek was suspended from the team for an indefinite period by the then coach Ertuğrul Sağlam after several disputes with several foreign players. After he trained with the reserve team until the winter break, he was loaned to league rivals Mersin İdman Yurdu for the second half of the 2012/13 season. At the club, which was threatened with relegation, he played sporadically and was suspended from the squad by the new coach Hakan Kutlu in mid-March, along with other teammates. At the end of the season he left this club.

At the end of the 2015 summer transfer period, İpek terminated his contract after mutual agreement with Bursaspor and switched to the newly promoted Antalyaspor within the Süper Lig . After just one season he moved on to the second division side Adana Demirspor and stayed here for one season.
