Joseph Jonathan Delisle (born June 30, 1977 in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines , Québec ; † March 16, 2006 in Beauce , Québec) was a Canadian ice hockey player who, during his playing career between 1993 and 2006, played a game for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League has completed. Mainly Delisle, who played the role of an enforcer and died at the age of 28 as a result of a traffic accident, was active in the American Hockey League and Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
Career
Delisle first played low class ice hockey before he went on the ice in the 1993/94 season for the Collège Français de Verdun in the Canadian top junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . For the 1994/95 season , the winger moved within the league to the Olympiques de Hull , where the right-handed shooter had an extremely successful time. In his debut season he won with the team the championship of the LHJMQ, the Coupe du Président . This was followed by participation in the Memorial Cup . In the 1995 NHL Entry Draft , Delisle was selected in the fourth round at a total of 86th position by the Canadiens de Montréal . He initially stayed two more years in the junior division and won his second league title in 1997 with the Olympiques de Hull, followed by winning the Memorial Cup for the first time.
Before Delisle during the football year 1998/99 for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League debut - this remained his only use in North American Elite League - he initially acted in the AHL - farm team in Fredericton Canadiens . Further assignments in the following years in various minor leagues , AHL and Central Hockey League , followed. For the 2002/03 season, the Canadian joined the British club Bracknell Bees . The return to Canada followed; the striker moved to the Garaga de Saint-Georges with play in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
Delisle was killed in a road traffic accident on March 16, 2006 at the age of 28 .
