The sixth edition of the competition took place in April 1994 for the second time after 1992 in Kobe, Japan, between the winner of the Copa Libertadores 1993 FC São Paulo (Brazil) and the winner of the Copa Conmebol 1993 Botafogo FR from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), da São Paulo had won both the Libertadores and the Supercopa. São Paulo was able to defend its title from the previous year and won the Recopa for the second time.
