Carlos Daniel Cordone

Carlos Daniel Cordone (born January 6, 1974 in General Rodríguez ) is a retired Argentine football player .

The striker played for Vélez Sársfield from 1993 to 1999 . With the club he won the Copa Interamericana and the Supercopa Sudamericana in 1996 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 1997 . In the first half of 2000 he played at the Racing Club and then moved to Newcastle United in the English Premier League . After a season he returned to his home country to the Argentinos Juniors . From 2002 to 2004 he played for San Lorenzo and won the Copa Sudamericana with the club in 2002 . In early April 2003 he was tested positive in a doping control and banned for three months. In July he was with San Lorenzo in the final of the Recopa Sudamericana, which was lost to Club Olimpia . In February 2004, Cordone failed a doping test again and was banned for two years as a repeat offender. From 2006 to the end of his career in 2012, he played at the clubs Argentino de Merlo, Independiente Rivadavia , Leandro N. Alem, Tristán Suárez and again Leandro N. Alem.
