Gabriel Alejandro Paletta (born February 15, 1986 in Buenos Aires ) is an Italian - Argentine soccer player who is under contract with Monza .
Career
Paletta began his career at CA Banfield . In 2004 he was brought to the youth team and in 2005 he made his Copa Libertadores debut against the Colombian club Independiente Medellín . He made his first major international appearance at the U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands in 2005 , when he won the title for the Argentine U-20 selection with today's stars like Lionel Messi and Sergio Agüero . He was involved in all games, so the scouts of Liverpool FC became aware of the defensive talent. Paletta's coach at the time, Rafael Benítez, compared him to stars like the Argentinean Roberto Ayala or the Englishman Jamie Carragher . The Reds spent the equivalent of around three million euros on the central defender. The first appearance for Liverpool was in the preparatory game against Wrexham FC in July 2006. His competitive debut was on October 25, 2006 at the League Cup against Reading FC Paletta . It was also in that game that he scored his first goal for the Reds.
After only three games for the Reds, Paletta moved back to Argentina in 2007 and signed a contract with Boca Juniors . He made his debut on February 10, 2009 in a 1-1 draw against CA Rosario Central , which he played through. In 2008 he won the Recopa Sudamericana with the Boca Juniors .
In July 2010, Paletta signed a contract with FC Parma in the Italian Serie A .
On February 2, 2015, Paletta moved to AC Milan . He received a contract until June 30, 2018. After 14 league appearances in the rest of the season, Paletta left the club and joined Atalanta Bergamo on loan on August 27, 2015 until the end of the 2015/16 season .
In February 2018, Paletta left Milan and joined Jiangsu Suning .
On November 6, 2019, after a probationary period, he signed a contract with the Italian third division club AC Monza 1912 until June 2022.
