Wellington Monteiro (born September 7, 1978 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a Brazilian soccer player.

Career

Wellington Monteiro began his career with Bangu AC in 1996 . After three years he was loaned to Paulista FC and in 2001 to Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte . In the 2001/02 season he got a contract with Bangu AC in the professional league and was loaned to CR Vasco da Gama in 2003 . There he spent his most successful year; he won three titles. In the 2004/05 and 2006 seasons he was loaned from SER Caxias do Sul , in 2005 for six league games from EC Juventude .

In 2006 he went to Internacional Porto Alegre for three years and played 53 league games. With the club he won the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2006 . After two years, he moved to Fluminense Rio de Janeiro in 2008 . From 2010 he was under contract with Goiás EC . In the 2011 season he signed a contract with CA Linense . He was under contract with Guarani FC for the 2012/13 season. In 2014 he went to Audax Rio de Janeiro .
