Bruce Edward Daniels, Jr. (born October 24, 1989 in Tallahassee , Florida ) is an American American football and Canadian football player. He plays the position of quarterback in the Alliance of American Football (AAF) for the Salt Lake Stallions , previously he was active as a quarterback, wide receiver and running back in the National Football League (NFL). In the 2013 NFL Draft, he was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the 237th player and later signed by the Seattle Seahawks , with whom he won Super Bowl XLVIII that same year .

Childhood, youth and college

Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Daniels graduated from Lincoln High School in Tallahassee. He then went to the University of South Florida , where he played on the position of quarterback.

Professional career

San Francisco 49ers

Daniels was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round as the 237th player in the 2013 NFL Draft . However, he was released on October 1, 2013.

Seattle Seahawks

On October 2, 2013 Daniels was signed by the Seattle Seahawks . Daniels was released on November 16, before being reinstated on November 18, 2013. On June 2, 2015, the Seahawks announced that Daniels would be retrained to the position of wide receiver. On October 13, 2015, the Seahawks released Daniels, but signed him back two days later. On October 27, 2015, he was released again to make room for running back Brice Brown . On October 29, 2015, he was hired by the Seahawks for the Practice Squad. On November 24, 2015, Daniels was added to the 53-man roster of the Seattle Seahawks, but released on December 15. On December 18, 2015, the Seahawks recruited Daniels to the Practice Squad.

Houston Texans

On December 21, 2015, the Houston Texans signed Daniels. There he should be used both as a quarterback and as a wide receiver. On December 27, 2015, Daniels made his Texans debut playing the Tennessee Titans , where he threw two passes, one of which was caught for 7 yards, and ran for six yards.

New York Giants

On May 9, 2016, Daniels was signed by the New York Giants . He was released on June 17, 2016.

Chicago Bears

On July 27, 2016, Daniels was signed by the Chicago Bears . On September 3, 2016, he was dismissed as part of the downsizing to 53 people.

Atlanta Falcons

On December 19, 2016, he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons . Here he was in the Practice Squad for the rest of the time. For the 2017 season he was retrained to run back with the Falcons . He was released on August 18, 2017 after an injury.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

On May 18, 2018, the Saskatchewan Roughriders from the Canadian Football League signed Daniels as quarterback. He was released after the last preseason game in June 2018.

Salt Lake Stallions

In the AAF QB Draft 2019 , Daniels was selected in the second round as the 14th quarterback by the Salt Lake Stallions from the Alliance of American Football (AAF). However, he did not make the jump to the final squad.
