James Edward Carpenter Jr. (* 22. March 1989 in Augusta , Georgia ) is an American American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Atlanta Falcons as a guard . He was previously under contract with the Seattle Seahawks , with whom he won the Super Bowl XLVIII .
college
Carpenter initially received a grant from the Iowa State University , but switched after he struggled to provide the required academic achievements, the Coffeyville Community College, for their team, the Red Ravens, he spent two seasons long as Left Tackle College Football played . He then attended the University of Alabama and played for the local team, the Alabama Crimson Tide . He ran as a starter in every game , was repeatedly included in various selection teams and was able to win the national championship with the team in 2010 .

Seattle Seahawks
In the 2011 NFL Draft , he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round as the 25th player. His rookie season came to an end after nine games with a cruciate ligament injury. The following season, in which he was called up as a guard for the first time, was marked by bad luck with injuries, which meant that Carpenter could only play seven times.
In 2013 he won the Super Bowl XLVIII with his team , in 2014 he again reached the Superbowl with the Seahawks , which was lost to the New England Patriots .
New York Jets
In 2015 he moved to the New York Jets. He has since been spared injuries and has played every game.
In 2017 he was the only one of his team to be on the field for every single one of the 1,038 plays that the offense made in the regular season , but was only 75th from the professional portal Pro Football Focus, which statistically records all players in the league a total of 80 deployed guards listed.

In March 2019, the Atlanta Falcons signed Carpenter for four years.
