Chandler Fenner (born July 6, 1990 in Virginia Beach , Virginia ) is an American American and Canadian football player. He last played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League .

Career

college

Fenner played college football at the College of the Holy Cross . There he played 44 games, half of them as a starter, in which he put 158 tackles , scored 3 sacks , caught 2 interceptions and forced 4 fumbles .

NFL

After Fenner was not selected in the 2012 NFL Draft , the Kansas City Chiefs signed him on April 30, 2012 . However, he was unable to assert himself there and was released on August 30, 2012.

Fenner was hired on December 6, 2012 by the Seattle Seahawks for their Practice Squad . On January 16, he received a new contract. On May 12, 2013, he suffered a knee injury and was subsequently placed on the Injured Reserve List . On May 14, 2013 the Seahawks waived / injured Fenner. He was released again on June 29, 2014.

On August 1, 2014, the New York Giants signed Fenner. He was released on August 30, 2013, but committed to the Giants Practice Squad the following day. On October 4, 2014, he was promoted to the 53-man main squad. Two days later he was released again, but only one day later he was recruited to the Practice Squad. On October 14, 2014 he was promoted again to the main squad. After his contract had expired, Fenner was signed again on April 21, 2015. On September 5, 2015, he was released again as part of the final squad reduction.

CFL

On February 24, 2016, the BC Lions signed fenners. He was released after the training camps, but re-assigned in July. After first being placed on the practice roster , he made his CFL debut on September 9, 2016. He played with the Lions until the 2017 season . He played a total of 26 games, including all 18 of his second season, scoring 105 defensive tackles, 32 special team tackles, and one sack each, forced fumble and an interception . On February 13, 2018, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Fenner. He started the first four games as a strongside linebacker before falling out of three games due to injury. He played the rest of the season in different positions and was particularly successful as a special teammer. For the 2019 season he switched to the position of cornerback. Fenner played in 17 games in which he scored 79 tackles. In the play-offs and the Gray Cup , which the Bombers later won, he found no use.
